Bill has been an illustrator and artist for most of his life and a fulltime painter for the past 2 ½ years. He currently works out of his dream-come-true studio, as he puts it, with a north-light view of the Lookout Mountain and also runs his own gallery in LaFayette, GA.

Bill’s latest works are the product of a lifetime love affair with late 19 th century painters —especially John William Waterhouse and John Singer Sargent — and the inspirational views of the world in which he lives. A resident of beautiful McClemore’s Cove, tucked between the Pigeon Mountain range and Lookout Mountain in Walker County, he shares his rural universe with two horses, four dogs, four goats, 11 chickens, and Sweet Baby Jane, all of whom provide endless inspiration for paintings and prints.

Bill started drawing at the age of six, producing stick-figure airplane scenes for his father, a career naval aviator. Although he had some formal training in painting and print making at the college level, Bill has honed most of his illustration and painting skills as a freelance technical illustrator and graphic designer in a career that has spanned more than 25 years. Bill is a graduate of the University of Maine with a BA in English. He is the founder and 1 st president of the Northwest Georgia Arts Guild.
